MuxLab's CCTV Pass-Thru/GLI Balun Helps Resolve Ground Loop Issues

Montreal, Canada - MuxLab Inc., designer and manufacturer of CCTV and audio-video connectivity solutions, announces its latest product for the CCTV security and surveillance industry...VideoEase CCTV Pass-Thru/GLI Balun (500132).

Developed in conjunction with CCTV systems installers, the Pass-Thru/GLI Balun allows remote power, PTZ control and video to be connected to the CCTV camera via one Cat5 cable and also has ground loop isolation.

Designed for applications where there is a possibility of ground voltage differential, the Pass-Thru/GLI Balun features three (3) connectors that break out the 24VAC, PTZ and video signals and isolates ground loops with voltage differentials up to 50VDC. The product is installed either at the DVR or camera end in conjunction with another standard CCTV balun.

A slide-switch allows the balun to be set to pass-thru or power-thru mode depending on whether a fixed or PTZ camera is installed. Remote 12VDC or 24VAC (Class II) power is supported via two (2) or three (3) twisted pairs depending whether the balun is set to pass-thru or power-thru mode. Longer distances may be achieved at 28VAC. Remote 2-wire PTZ control (i.e.; RS422) is supported via one (1) twisted pair and video is supported via one (1) twisted pair.

Fully compatible with other MuxLab CCTV baluns, the Pass-Thru/GLI Balun follows TIA-568 wiring standards and features a pin configuration label directly on the product for ease of installation.

MuxLab Supports HDTV and IR Emitter Pass-Thru via Cat5
More Cost-Efficient Cabling for Component Video

Montreal, Canada: 5th February 2008 MuxLab Inc. a designer and manufacturer of audio-video connectivity solutions for copper twisted pair, announces its latest product for the commercial and consumer audio-video industry..The Component Video/IR Pass-Thru Balun (500054, 500055).

Developed for commercial AV integrators and custom home installers, the Component Video/IR Pass-Thru Balun allows one full YPbPr/RGB video channel plus one IR Emitter channel to be connected via Category 5 copper twisted pair cable in a point-to-point configuration for neater and more efficient cabling.

The Component Video/IR Pass-Thru Balun supports video formats 480i/p as well as high-definition 720p and 1080i/p, thereby allowing Cat5 UTP to be used with satellite receivers, cable boxes and other HDTV sources. The product supports an additional IR Pass-Thru connection on the fourth twisted pair when used with 3rd party infra-red systems and features a modular RJ45 connector for ease of installation.

Typically an IR emitter is connected from a TV back to an IR controller via a separate cable. The Component Video/IR Pass-Thru Balun allows a single Cat5 cable to handle HDTV video and IR control for maximum cable optimization.
In regard to distance performance, the Component Video/IR Pass-Thru Balun supports up to 500 ft via Cat5 in 1080i (HDTV) mode for maximum versatility in most multi-room applications.
