CCTV specialist Videotec recently unveiled a new range of camera housing specifically design for thermal imaging cameras applications.

The thermal camera housing range has been designed for installation of Thermal Imaging Cameras, used in a extremely wide range of applications such as: fire monitoring and rescue, public safety, intruder monitoring (harbor, airport, dam, river), industrial monitoring, environment monitoring, military purposes, marine (port and harbor surveillance, vessel navigation), night vision security surveillance, etc.

Equipped with a Germanium glass window transparent to infrared and designed with the most important thermal cameras manufacturers, this housing range is ideal for thermal cameras installation. The clear germanium glass composition with remarkable properties covers transmission from 7,5 to 14 ?m IR range with the best optical quality. The available housings allow the installation in several environments.

Hi Gianni,

Many thanks for posting the information on your new Thermal Imaging camera housings; the products look very interesting, and I hope you have much success with them (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

I'm just curious but do you have any plans for a 'duo' version, that can accommodate both a TI and conventional CCTV camera, so the operator can switch between the two views sourced from the same housing?

Hi Jon,

It is definitely something we are looking at. I see it especially when mounted on a P&T units. Then the two (thermal and standard) cameras could be installed in a single or two enclosures.

I already saw some products of this kind but with limited flexibility, i.e. with already built-in cameras.

Definitely thermal cameras are becoming more price-affordable and they can be effective in several situations.

Best Regards

Gianni

There seems to be quite a bit of interest in this dual imaging technology for applications, like law enforcement, border control and beach safety.

As you said Gianni, the TI cameras are getting cheaper and more reliable so there will undoubtedly be a developing market for this specialist kit over the coming years.
